Welcome
Considering therapy and searching for "the one" to provide it can feel intimidating. As you consider sharing your story with me, you need to know a little about me to feel that we might be comfortable with each other.
Positive experiences in therapy after trauma and other life-stretching experiences led to my desire to become a counselor. Prior to private practice, I provided trauma-informed therapy in a family mental health center and moved into clinical supervision of it. My practice has been built on many years of providing therapy and supervision for:
• Victims of abuse, neglect and other trauma
• Adoptees, foster children, parents, and other family members
• Those transitioning to later life or their caregivers
• Individuals grappling with cross-cultural challenges or spiritual crises
• Oregon therapist associates
Beyond a Master of Social Work, Postgraduate Certificate in Therapy with Adoptive and Foster Families from Portland State University and qualification as a Trust-Based Relational Intervention Practitioner, I have pursued extensive attachment-based trainings in Theraplay, Circle of Security and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. I have built a trauma toolbox with EMDR, Lifespan Integration and Internal Family Systems, and continue to pursue other new techniques to provide service that is current and holistic.
As your counselor, you honor me by sharing your life and growth with me. I will bring authenticity and a holistic perspective into weaving mind, body, and emotions for a whole and healthy person. I prioritize easy access to care in collaboration with many insurance plans. Please feel free to arrange a chat about whether we may be a good fit together.
